Christine Thompson, co-owner of Spoke & Weal, hairdresser and colour director, explains « First, you have to bleach your hair by breaking natural melanin. This is done in two steps, using bleach or a lightener. The roots are generally lighter than the ends of the hair ».
The problem is that removing hair color down to light blond tones is difficult without breakage, as explained to us by hairdresser Elizabeth Hiserodt of the Cutler salon.
Be particularly careful if you have very fine textured hair. The platinum blonde trend was fun and original, but our hair thanks us for the fact that it has passed quickly.
